6-26-09- What Would God Think?
We hear all the time what hypocrites Christians are. Although it is sad to say, many of us deserve this. However, let's be clear. Christians have never claimed to be sinless. We are all sinners. We sin every day in word (No, you don't look fat in those jeans!), thought (You, @*!, you cut me off!) and/or deed (every night when we lay our head down to sleep there is one more thing we could have done for Christ, but didn't, because we were too lazy, tired, embarrassed, etc.). The difference between
For the fourth time in six cases, the Supreme Court of the United States has reversed a decision for which Judge Sonia Sotomayor voted on the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. If this nominee were a white male...
"Strobel interviews Christian scientists and philosophers and either destroys the, so called, evidence/argument as false or faulty science or provides more compelling evidence. "
1. The female always makes the rules. 2. The rules are subject the change without notice. 3. No male can possibly know all the rules. 4. If the female suspects the male knows all the rules, she must immediately change some of the rules. 5. The female is never wrong. 6. If it appears the female is wrong, it is because of a flagrant mis- understanding caused by something the male did or said wrong. 7. If the last rule applies, the male must appologize immediately for causing the misunderstanding. 8. The female can change her mind at any time. 9. The male must never change his mind without the express written consent of the female. 10. The female has every right to be angry or upset at any time. 11. The male must remain calm at all times, unless the female wants him to be angry or upset. 12. The female must, under no circumstances, let the male know whether she wants him to be angry or upset. 13. The male is expected to read the mind of the female at all times. 14. At all times, what is important is what the female meant, not what she said. 15. If the male doesn't abide by the rules, it is because he can't take take the heat. 16. If the female has PMS, all the rules are null & void & the male must cater to her every whim. 17. Any attempt to document the rules could result in bodily harm. 18. If the male, at any time, believes he is right, he must refer to rule five.
I would like to bring to your attention the wonderful work being done by the Thomas More Law Center (TMLC). It is a nonprofit law firm "dedicated to the defense and promotion of the religious freedom of Christians, time-honored family values, and the sanctity of human life." They provide legal representation without charge to defend and protect Christians and their religious beliefs in the public square. They also defend and promote faith and family through media and educational efforts.
Their "ministry was inspired by the recognition that the issues of the cultural war being waged across America, issues such as abortion, pornography, school prayer, and the removal of the Ten Commandments from municipal and school buildings, are not being decided by elected legislatures, but by the courts. These court decisions, largely insulated from the democratic process, have been inordinately influenced by legal advocacy groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) which seek to systematically subvert the religious and moral foundations of our nation."
Their website, www.thomasmore.org, is great to visit regularly or you can sign up for news updates via e-mail and they will keep you posted on news important to those of us fighting in the cultural war.
Recently the TMLC filed a federal lawsuit against Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. The lawsuit claims that her Department's "Rightwing Extremism Policy," as reflected in the recently publicized Intelligence Assessment, "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment," violates the civil liberties of combat veterans as well as American citizens by targeting them for disfavored treatment on account of their political beliefs.
Their work is very important and we hope you will take a moment to visit their site. We also hope you will consider making a donation. As we have said before, $5, $10 or $25 from enough "regular folks" can make big differences. Remember, their work is done free of charge for those in need. It is through the support of people like us that keep their work alive.
A Gallup poll last week showed that far more Americans describe themselves as "conservatives" than as "liberals." Yet Republicans have been clobbered by the Democrats in both the 2008 elections and the 2006 elections.
In a country with more conservatives than liberals, it is puzzling-- in fact, amazing-- that we have the furthest left President of the United States in history, as well as the furthest left Speaker of the House of Representatives.
